Obituary of Arnold Lawrence Denner

Please share a memory of Arnold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Rose: Arnold Lawrence Denner was born on January 25, 1936 in Ogdensburg, New York . He is the son of the late Carl and Ila Denner and brother of his late sister Emma. Arnold was predeceased by his beloved wife Elaine, and their sons, Arnold “Denny”, and Steven Denner. Arnold is survived by his daughter, Linda Clevenger, and three grandchildren, David (Megan) Denner , Chad (Courtney) Clevenger, Amanda Lauer, six great grandchildren, and several cousins and nieces and nephews. Arnold grew up in Hammond, New York, and took pride in being a St. Lawrence Seaway "farm boy." On March 10, 1956 he married his city girl (Elaine) from Rochester. As a child he was nicknamed Denny, and that nick name was passed on to his first born son. In his early years, and in addition to being a farm boy, he worked for GLF Feed Store, built silos, delivered milk for Mercer's Dairy and later worked for Gerber, and Sealtest Dairy. After 30 years he retired from Kodak. Arnold and Elaine enjoyed many ventures together. He coached the Dodger’ s baseball team in North Chili, owned and operated Chili Sports and Toys, started the ground work for the Churchville-Chili Teen Center, and Booster Clubs (wrestling, baseball, football). With pride he was the founder of the Vince Lombardi Youth Football League. They owned and operated The Windjammer, did Kodak events and had a successful real estate business. Arnold had a love for luxury cars and good food. They camped, snowmobiled, drove motorcycles, enjoyed watching hockey, football and Nascar races. They took up residences in North Chili, Sodus Point, Venice, Florida and Wolcott. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for the dedication and compassion of Nurse Heidi, Michael, Life Time Care, and other care provided to our family. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 19th at noon at the Cottage Inn on Old Ridge Road & Route 370 in Red Creek. Arr: Norton Funeral Home of Sodus.
