Red Creek: Passed away on Wednesday, December 17th, age 93, with his family at his side. Barney was a World War II veteran who served from 1942 to 1946 in the Army Air Corps. He was employed for many years at Xerox in Webster. An avid camper, Barney and Fran were seasonal campers at the Piney Woods Campground in North Rose where they had made many friends. Barney is survived by his wife Frances McMillen Chapman; son Brian Chapman; daughters Trudy (Dan) White, Tamara (Mark) Dauphin, and Tina Jo (Charles) Rourke; grandchildren Colby (Steve) Ceratt, Kara (Mark) Ash, Cory Dauphin, Eric Dauphin, and Marlee Rourke; great-grandchildren Drew Ceratt and Ava Ash; sister-in-law Evadeen Chapman of Kingwood, TX. Barney was predeceased by son Barry Chapman, his parents Clarence and Marion Phelps Chapman; sisters Kathryn Schantz and Corabelle “Corky” Sliter; brother Charles “Chuck” Chapman. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday December 20th from 2-4 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 5925 New Hartford Street in Wolcott. His funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation, and will include Military Honors. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family.
