Our deepest sympathy to all. I have too many memories to share all of them, but I share two that stand out for me. I respected Uncle Jerry tremendously. I can still hear him say "What's my name?!?" in a slow stern voice when I would try to call him Jerry as a very young child. He was of course, with tongue and cheek, teaching me to respectfully address people. Immediately after he would give the world's strongest "monkey bite"... to show he wasn't mad...I could never escape it :)
Many years later, after graduating from Coast Guard bootcamp (20 years ago) "Uncle Jerry" taught me to shine my shoes the right way (the USMC way). I had the best looking boots on base. I still use the "right way" today.
Thank you "Uncle Jerry". R.I.P.
