Obituary of Lloyd L. Ludwig

Sodus Point: Lloyd Ludwig, possibly the last remaining Linger, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21st at the age of 89. Known lovingly to his family as The Ancient Mariner, Lloyd is survived by his son Lee (Chris Helmer); two granddaughters, McKinley and Miranda Ludwig; three step-children and step-granddaughters, all of whom he loved unconditionally. He is also survived by a few dear friends. Lloyd is predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor, his brother Rodman, and his parents Oscar W. Ludwig and Ethel A. Collins. Lloyd attended Sodus Point Academy. After graduating from Sodus Central School in 1943, Lloyd served honorably in the United States Navy on the USS Colorado during World War II. After his military service, he earned his BSBA from the University of Florida. Lloyd took a great deal of pride in his work as an accountant for local businesses over the years. In addition, he was a long time member of Rotary International and a member of the Wayne County Business Council. Aside from his family, one of Lloyd’s greatest loves was boating on Sodus Bay. Honoring the family’s wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, July 9th, 10:30 a.m. from Christ Church in Sodus Point.
