Wolcott: Leo Gonyeau, age 78, passed away on Wednesday April 8th with his loving family at his side. Born in 1937 in Potsdam, he was the son of Alfred and Clara Gonyeau. Leo was predeceased by his parents, his wife Betty, daughters Clara and Robin, two infant sons, grandson Jamie, and granddaughter Vicky. Leo is survived by children Agnes (Joe), Penny (Chuck), Elizabeth “Dolly” (Larry), Charmane, Sharon (Ray), Doreen (Bob), Leeat (Claude), and Leo Jr. grandsons that he raised Andrew (Ashley) Gregg and Larry (Sherry) Gonyeau; 38 additional grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother Robert; step-sister Shirley Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation Friday April 10th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with his funeral immediately following at the Norton Funeral Home, 5925 New Hartford Street in Wolcott. Interment will follow at the Huron Evergreen Cemetery.
