Savannah: Passed away Thursday June 30th, age 82 following a brief illness. She was a devoted member of the Savannah Methodist Church and then the Savannah Community Church. A graduate of Madison High School, and the Crouse-Irving School of Nursing in Syracuse. Jean later served as the Savannah Town Clerk for 25 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Charles; her children Donna (Sherman) Jones, Lynn (Daniel) McKinney and Alan Gansz (Michelle Waterman); grandchildren Justin, Joshua, Sarah, Sandra, Samantha, Rebecca, Candace, Shea, Alison, Haley and Shauna; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Wilma (Ray) Diable and Nancy (Bernard) Simmons, brothers Lloyd (Alice), Tom, Mike (Arlene), Wayne (Phyllis), Jim (Ginny) Stoker; sisters-in-law Viola Bliss, Elaine (Werter) Cooney and Kathy Stoker; several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her son Bruce Gansz and by her brother Paul Stoker. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday July 5th, from 11-2 at the Savannah Community Church, 13368 Seneca Street in Savannah, where her funeral will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Interment will be at the Crusoe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jean may be sent to the Savannah Community Church. Arrangements: Norton Funeral Home of Savannah.
