Obituary of Donald R. Fisher

Sodus: Passed away on Monday January 17th, 2011 at the age of 83. Don was predeceased by his wife Lois Wren Fisher in 1995. He is survived by his children Donna Fisher (Pat Adams) of Sodus, Douglas (Kathryn) Fisher of N.C., and Duane (Jackie) Fisher CWO5 USN ret. Of Brazil, IN; grandchildren Derek M.T. Creason, Robert (Liane) Fisher, Stacia (Rahm) Kelly, Bryan (Erica) Fisher, Krystina (Jacob) Hill; great grandchildren Kyira, Adessa, Kole, Ruby, Charlotte and Trevor. Don retired in 1984 from the Sodus Post Office where he had worked as a postal clerk. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II and also the Korean War, as well as being a Purple Heart recipient. Don was a member of American Legion Post 910, V.F.W. Post 7171, Korean War Veteran’s Assoc., 5th R.C.T. Assoc, 24th Inf. Div. Assoc., Sodus Lodge 392 F.& A.M. as well as being past District Deputy of Wayne County. Visitation will be held on Friday (1/21) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 45 West Main Street, Sodus. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held in the spring at the Sodus Rural Cemetery.
