Obituary of Elsie A. Acker

Thursday, April 9, 2009, passed away peacefully at the age of 87, surrounded by her family at the Hurlbut Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Homer Acker, and her son, Halley. Elsie is survived by her children Sandra (Ronald) Komarek of Fairport and Linda Burdick (Tom Maddicks) of Geneseo; daughter in law Betty Acker of Clyde; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Elsie was a lifelong member of South Butler United Methodist Church and a past Matron of the Eastern Star. She was an avid gardener and bird lover, and a loving mother and grandmother.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, April 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the COLVIN-NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 13081 W. Church Street in Savannah. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, April 14 at the South Butler Methodist Church, Route 89 in South Butler at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be immediately following the service at South Butler-Savannah Cemetery. Donations may be made in Elsie’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation or the South Butler Methodist Church.
