Wolcott/Ontario: Formerly of Wolcott and Ontario, passed away on Saturday, April 11th, at the age of 55. Shelley is survived by her parents, Robert and Winona Verburg of Walworth; children, Sr. Airman Scott (Mackenzie) Verburg US Air Force, Abilene, TX and Shasta Taft (Jason Kellam) of Red Creek; a granddaughter, Paige Kellam of Red Creek; sister Sabrina Minier of RI; brothers, Shane (Denise) Verburg of Silver Spring, MD, and Steffen (Andrea Franklin) Verburg of Brighton; uncle William Van (Carol) Howell of Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a former employee of Xerox. The family would like to express a sincere thank you for the thoughtful care she received in the MICU at Rochester General Hospital and at the Shore Winds Nursing Home in Charlotte.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 16th, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main Street, Sodus. Funeral services for Shelley will be held Friday, April 17th, at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. Interment will be at Sodus Rural Cemetery immediately following her service. Donations in her memory may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or to a charity of one’s choice.
