My daughter, Laura, and I extend our deepest condolences to Joe's family. We cannot believe he is gone...He went through such hardship in the last year and was putting his life back together.
He told me he was enjoying being back in
Rochester and loved being surrounded by family. Laura and I planned to spend Christmas with him in Rochester this year. We spent time together last March in New Orleans and then on a cruise to Belieze. If he hadn't told you the story about the New Orleans ghost tour, please contact me as you need to hear it!!
It's hard to believe I can't pick up the phone and call him. He was my best friend. I hope he is reunited with his beloved Mother.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of Joe. I work at Equal Grounds Coffee Shop as a part-time barista, and got to hang out with Joe as a fellow customer at July's open mic poetry night. Joe was a super guy with a great sense of humor. However briefly I knew him I am glad I had the chance to get to know him a little. I am so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Colin Coffey

Dear Gallo Family,
How sad to hear about the loss of Joe. I fondly remember the good times we had as classmates at NRW. He was always upbeat and fun. When I saw him last at our 20th class reunion, Joe talked about his dogs and the earthquake in his area. My heart goes out to you all in this difficult time.

My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Joe. My husband and I hosted the Open Mic Poetry Night at Equal Grounds Coffee House. Joe was there last month and came back for what it turns out was his last night. It was a magical night. There were 9 readers of poetry and everyone seemed to be having such a great time. It was a community feeling of all kinds of people--from published poets, to someone reading for the first time, male, female, old, young, gay, straight, transgender--all taking turns. Everyone afterwards said it was the best Open Mic ever and they would come again. I was stunned to learn that Joe died shortly after that evening. I feel both honored and saddened that we were part of what turned out to be his last evening. God bless you all in your grieving. He and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
