Obituary of Mary Ladelle McDowra Noble

SENECA FALLS – Mary Ladelle McDowra Noble of Gravel Road and Peachtree City, GA, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Southland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Peachtree City.
Prior visitation will not be observed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Aug 29th, at 2 PM, at the Tyre United Methodist Church, the Rev Kevin Grish officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Clyde, NY.
Born January 23, 1925, in Pattonville, TX, Mrs. Noble was the daughter of Renan E and Frances J Bowen McDowra. She attended schools in Pattonville and Paris and received an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Paris Junior College. She came to NY in 1945 after her marriage in 1944 and the subsequent end of the war. She raised six children, tutored numerous area children and adults in reading and math, acted as a companion for several area residents, babysat for working mothers, and produced books in Braille. She was a long-time member of Tyre United Methodist Church, playing piano for Sunday School and organ for church services for many years. She taught Sunday School and organized numerous plays and Christmas parties for the Sunday School.
Mrs. Noble is survived by her six children: Michael (Jun Fisher) Noble of Ellenwood, GA; Jean Michelle "Mickey" (Terrence) Nieman of Schenectady, NY; Patrick (Sharon) Noble of Savannah, NY; Timothy (Dresden) Noble of Senoia, GA; Jeffery (Brenda) Noble of Peachtree City, GA; and Christopher Noble, also of Peachtree City. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Matthew (Amy) Nieman and Jonathan (Michele) Nieman; Chad and Blaine Donk, Taryn and Chanda Noble; Conan Noble; Nicole (Guy) Serapion; and Shawna Noble; and by eight great-grandchildren: Audrey Nieman; Brandon and Jordon Colbert, Chayce Stocks; Macie Noble; Kailani, Makoa, and Nani Serapion. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Stockton, of Dallas, TX, and her brother, James (Jolyne) McDowra, of Jonesboro, AK.
Mrs. Noble was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, LaVerne J. Noble; her parents; and her sisters, Nell McDowra and Frances McDowra Orr.
Arrangements are by the Carl J Morell and Son Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA and by the Colvin-Norton Funeral Home, Savannah, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Noble's name may be made to Clyde-Savannah Public Library, 204 Glasgow St, Clyde, NY 14433.
