Obituary of Elsie L. Senior

Wolcott: Elsie Senior the family matriarch, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at age 98. Born January 16, 1911 in the Town of Huron, she was the daughter of Smith and Maude Baxter Sullivan. Elsie is survived by daughter Norma L. (John) Pearson of Missouri; grandchildren Robyn Knapp, Matthew Reynolds, Christina Pearson and Sayhe Pearson; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; cousins Jean Harris, Helen Wagner and Sandy Marshall who was also Elsie’s special caregiver; 4 nieces and a nephew. Elsie was predeceased by her beloved husband William on February 26, 1981; grandson Douglas William Barney on July 28, 1970 and her dearest brother and best friend Everett Sullivan, and niece Marcia Delamarter. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wolcott, Elsie served on it’s Board of Trustees from 1949-1952, was ordained an Elder in 1968, and a Deacon in 1982. She had tremendous organizing skills and was involved in most church activities. She was also very active in the Wolcott Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Elsie worked for many years at the Red & White for Lynn and Josie Munger, then as office manager at S&S Excavating, and later S&S Crane Service. Family and friends are invited are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the COLVIN-ROBERTSON-NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 5925 New Hartford Street in Wolcott, where her funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Huron Evergreen Cemetery. Elsie’s family requests the courtesy of no flowers, Donations in her memory may be sent to the House of John in Clifton Springs, or to WAVAC.
