Wolcott: Sunday October 11, 2009, Carol D. Decker lost her battle with endometrial and mesodermal sarcoma cancer. Her husband of 34 years, Todd E. Decker, was at her side in their home. Carol was born Carol Dianne Benson, on November 19, 1956 in Lyons, the daughter of Franklin (Bud) and Dora Benson of Waterfall, PA. She was the third child of 8 siblings. Older sister Joyce Golly of Grand Banks, NC, younger sisters Katherine (Dennis) Bliss of Rose, Nancy Stauffer (Steve Fink) of Oswego, and Tracy (Kevin) Fraser of Huron. Carol was predeceased by siblings Judy, William and Franklin. Carol is the daughter-in-law of Marvin and Lois Decker of Red Creek. Carol is survived by husband, Todd; sons Erik of Wolcott, Kurt of Ft. Bragg, NC, and Zachary (Kimberly) of Wolcott; granddaughters Leah and Emily Decker; and best friend Carolyn Smith of North Rose. In the past, Carol had been employed by the Wayne County Department of Motor Vehicles, Lyons National Bank, the North Rose-Wolcott School District where she was a registered substitute, a plant specialist at Vic’s Garden Spot in Red Creek, and most recently for Farm Fresh Produce where she was a shipping clerk. Carol was an active leader in the local Boy Scouts (Troop 115) and served as a committee person on the Republican Committee. At Carol’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Donations in Carol’s memory may be directed to WAVAC, Sodus Town Ambulance or to an ambulance service of their choice. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wolcott Elks Lodge, 6161 W. Port Bay Rd., Wolcott. Arrangements: Colvin-Robertson-Norton Funeral Home.
