Obituary of Joyce L. Culp

Wolcott: Age 75, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on January 7th. Born October 14th, 1934 in Berkley Springs, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Harry and Clora True Culp. Joyce is survived by his wife of 28 years, Florence Armlin Culp; daughters Marjorie (Thomas) Worden of Ontario, NY, Christine Koontz of Bunkerhill, WV, Patricia (Kevin) Behm of Cross Junction, WV and Janet (Edward) Kline of High View, WV; step-sons Richard (Vicki) Townsend Jr. of Red Creek, NY and Rory (Ragan) Townsend of Port Byron, NY; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Schrader of Berkley Springs, WV, Francis (Claetus) Canby of Hedgesville, WV; brother Lloyd Culp of Highview, WV; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Phyllis Clark; brother George Culp; and step-son Robbie Townsend. Joyce started his employment career as an assembler at Fairchild Aeronautical in Maryland. Upon relocating to New York he was a fruit farmer for many years in Wayne County. Later, Joyce and his wife Florence owned and operated the Duck Lake Campgrounds in Red Creek, NY. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and the Wolcott Elks Lodge. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday (Jan 11th) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the COLVIN-ROBERTSON-NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 5925 New Hartford Street in Wolcott, where his funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Spring interment will be at the Rose Cemetery.
