Sodus/Lyons: Kenneth Milliken, age 79, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 8, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 3 years, Wendy (Vanderlinde); sons, Kenneth (Connie) Milliken of Manchester, Donald (Deborah) Milliken of Lyons; Randy (Marie) Milliken of Lyons; daughter, Betsy (Gary) Burkhard of Phelps; step-sons, Timothy (Karen) Vanderlinde and Jeremy (Sarah) Vanderlinde of Rose; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Gard of Rochester; brother, Jack (Sue) Milliken of Palmyra; several nieces and nephews; and many friends; especially very dear and committed friends, Jan and Maryann Major of Clifton Springs. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Doris “Dootie” Joan (Krueger) Milliken; parents, Francis Sr. and Lillian (Darrin) Milliken; brother, Francis Milliken, Jr.; sister, Lila Mae Smith; grandson, Kenneth Levi Milliken; and nephew, Shawn Milliken. Kenneth was born on December 12, 1930 in Zurich, N.Y. He lived all of his life in the Lyons and Rose area. Prior to retiring in 1995 from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, he held various occupations, most notably at Green Dairy Farms, Garlock, Diner owner/operator, carpenter, and owner/operator of a Seaway gas station. Among his many hobbies and interests, he loved woodworking, camping, antique gas engine collecting and clowning. As an avid fan of enjoying food, he loved family and friend picnics and get togethers. In earlier years, he spent time as an Army reservist, a member of the Rose Fire Department and the North Rose Masonic Lodge for a number of years. Upon his request, there will be no calling hours or services. A private interment will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be given to a charity of your choice. Arr.: NORTON FUNERAL HOME, Sodus, NY.
