Wolcott: Jim passed away on Sunday May 16th, at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Midge; children Dennis (Carol) Swartwood of Penn Yan, Richard of Rochester, Sandi (Joe) Furman of Sterling, Jim (Betsy) of Wolcott; grandchildren Steve (Kim) Jernigan, Kasey and Jake Weinhold, Meghan Furman and Elaine Swartwood; three great-grandchildren; brother Robert (Carmella) Swartwood of Florida, sisters Kitty (Richard) Donovan of Machias, NY and Theresa (Douglas) Gardner of Binghamton; daughter-in-law Margaret Swartwood of Ohio. Jim was predeceased by twin daughters Sharon and Cheryl, son Ronald, his parents Herbert and Junia, sisters Bettie Barnum and Joyce Griffin, brothers Donald and William. Jim was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy. He retired in 1987 from Xerox, where he had worked in the Transportation Department. A celebration of Jim’s life was held on Wednesday, May 19th from the Calvary Baptist Church in Fair Haven. Contributions in memory of Jim may be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church, or to the Wolcott Area Volunteer Ambulance Service. Arr: Colvin-Robertson-Norton Funeral Home.
