Savannah: Went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 23, 2010. Russell will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Inez; daughters Marcha (Carlton) Topping, Brenda (Skip) Miller, Cyndi (Harry) Martinez; grandchildren Heather (William) Page, Scott (Brandi) Miller, Chris (Karen) Miller, Devin (Michael) Victorious; great-grandchildren Marissa, Christian, Evan, Elizabeth, Parker, Leah, Maddie, Kyleigh and Greysen; brother Bruce (Barbara) Waterman, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Russell had worked at Agway in Wolcott for 30 years where he retired as a manager. He then worked another 13 years at Marshall Research. Russ was an avid baseball player and bowler. He enjoyed feeding the birds around his home. He later became a Christmas tree farmer, was a member of the South Butler Fire Department, and Social Director of the Golden Friends senior citizen group.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the COLVIN-NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 13081 West Church Street in Savannah. His funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church on Grand Avenue in Savannah. Interment will be at the Butler-Savannah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the South Butler Ambulance Squad, or to the American Diabetes Association in his memory.
