Sodus Point: Passed away peacefully on June 28 at age 71, with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Frank; her children, Minde (Dan) Almekinder, Gail MacNeal (Dan Smith), Julie (Rick) Finley, Frank “Butch” Grosz (Vivian Matteson), James (Lynn) Grosz, David (Sue) Grosz, Brian Grosz (Martha Martin), Pam Confer, Jeff (Julie) MacNeal, and Robin Grosz; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Wasson and Jeanette DeBuyser; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, James and Louise VanSlyke and two brothers, James and Richard VanSlyke.
A Memorial Service in Mary’s honor will be held on Friday, July 2 at 3 p.m. at Wallington Fire Hall, 7863 Old Ridge Road, Wallington.
