Sodus: Passed away at age 76 on Thursday September 23, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen McCoole Carnell; children David (Cindie) Carnell, Deb (Roy) Pickering, Darlene (Mark) Beane, Deena (John) Whitcomb and Jason Carnell; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters Audrey Meeks and Bernice Casselman; several nieces and nephews. Clayton was predeceased by his parents Neeper and Elizabeth Carnell, brothers Marvin “Buck” Carnell and Kenny Carnell; sister Esther “Cis” Coonrod; grandchildren John “Jay” Whitcomb, Shonda Jo Carnell; great-grandson Jeremy Pickett II. Clayton was a dedicated firefighter with the Wallington Fire Department for 45 years. He loved his dog Dixie and cat Billiebob. He always had faith in the Buffalo Bills. Here’s hoping for a winning season. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 26th at the Wallington Fire Department on Ridge Road. The family requests memorials be directed to the Wallington Fire Department, Sodus Center Ambulance, or to a charity of one’s choice. Arr: Norton Funeral Home.
