Sodus: Passed away on Thursday, October 21st at the age of 72. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Janice Knight Hoover; his daughter Margaret (John) Boone and their children Cheyenne, Brianna and Ian; son James (Sharon) Hoover and their children Nathan, Ryan and Meagan; brothers William, Guy and Bob Hoover. Charles was predeceased by his parents Albert and Nell Pauline Williams Hoover; brother Frank Hoover, and sister Dolores Phillips.
Charles was a career military NCO, and a Viet Nam War Veteran. He retired from the Air Force following 20 years of service, where he served as a Loadmaster on a C-130 Hercules Air Crew.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Damascus Cemetery in Damascus, Ohio, at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 30, 2010. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, the Hoover family respectfully requests that donations in memory of Charles be directed to the Blossom View Nursing Home, 6884 Maple Avenue, Sodus, NY 14551.
