Obituary of Mary "Vicki" McGarr

Henrietta/Wolcott McGarr, Mary (Vicki) passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at the age of 73 at her son’s home in Wolcott surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Vicki was predeceased by her husband Paul W. McGarr. She is survived by her sons; Paul F. (Deanna) McGarr, Kevin (Doreen) McGarr and Erin McGarr, her granddaughters; Kirsten Emler (Mike), Krystyna McGarr, grandsons Michael (Rachel) Trine and Andrew Fuller, great-grandchildren; Rayna Trine, Jayden McGarr, Giovanni Emler and Drayvin and Lyndon Fuller. Vicki worked at Harris Communications in Henrietta. Prior to that she worked at Myers Community Hospital for several years as a Ward Clerk and as a Patient Care Tech. Vicki enjoyed taking care of people. While residing in Sodus she was active in the PTA at Sodus Central School. In her younger years she was involved with the Girl Scouts and she was a Cub Scout leader in Sodus where she raised her three sons. She enjoyed working in her gardens as well as quilting. Vicki was a strong and determined lady. She especially enjoyed spending the holidays with her family and friends. Vicki loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great mom and mother-in-law, awesome grandmother and the best great-grandmother. Vicki will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Vicki’s family would like to express their gratitude to Lifetime Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for their loved one. There will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Norton Funeral Home to help with the funeral costs.
