Willard “Sonny’ Waite, Jr, 76, of Sodus passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Rochester General Hospital. He is predeceased by his parents Willard Sr. and Hilda; sisters, Donna and Laura Smith. He is survived by his brothers Jerry (Beverly) Waite, Amos of Watertown; sisters Mary of Canada, Carolyn of Dexter and Janice of Gouverneur; several nieces and nephews. He was chosen by the National VFW as an honorary golden member and contributed to Sodus, Wolcott and Newark VFW. He made many cash contributions in local fire departments in Wallington, Sodus, Alton and Sodus Point.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10th, 2016 from 2-4pm at Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main St., in Sodus. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Mercy Flight Central 2420 Brickyard Rd. Canandaigua, NY 14424 and any VFW of your choice.
