Obituary of George R. Bills

Rose George R. Bills passsed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Huntington Living Center at the age of 93. Mr. Bills was born April 4, 1923 in Northville, NY. He was the oldest of four children born to the late E. Richard and Adella (Mason) Bills. He graduated from Northville High School and Allentown Bible Institute, Allentown, PA. He was a preacher in Virginia for Pilgrim Holiness Church. Mr. Bills was a clerk for the government in Washington DC. Mr. Bills worked several jobs in the Gloversville, NY area before moving to Rose, NY. He retired from Xerox where he worked many years. Mr. Bills was a member of the Rose Free Methodist Church for over 40 years, serving as Sunday School Teacher, Delegate and bookkeeper. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Ruth (Earl) Bassett. He is survived by his brother, Eugene (Carol) Bills, sister Betty (Keith) Stewart; sons George (Jan) Bills of Liberty TN; Keith Bills of Gloversville, NY; David Bills of MO; step-sons Rev. Dale Travis, Roy Travis and step-daughter Naomi Douglas Frances Herrick and Viola Petty; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Rose Free Methodist Church at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at the Edinburgh Cemetery in Edinburgh, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Rose Free Methodist Church, Rose, NY.
