Mernie was such an important person in my life. The Hobbie sisters mourn with you, but hold such wonderful memories of a dear friend. I am now singing in the alto range, and I consciously try to channel your mother.

My heart goes out to Mernie's family. Mernie lived next door to my mother, Betty Mulberry, for many, many years.
Our family fondly remembers visiting Mom in Sodus and being lucky enough to enjoy her wonderful neighbors as well.
We all enjoyed sharing meals, stories of family and, of course, Mernie's wonderful swimming pool.
Mernie was a generous, kind and loving woman who loved her family dearly. She gave her heart to her family and her community.
I know Mom will welcome her with open arms!

Some of my fondest memories of Mernie were Sunday Afternoon dinners , where the Family would gather, with Bill leading with prayer. Mernie always put full effort into making things seemingly easy. Bill would tell musing stories and humor all.. it was a Family Time, that few experience today..Mernie enjoyed having her Family close, engaging in chatter and laughter.. one of my favorite dishes that Mernie would prepare was her Yorkshire pudding.. absolutely the best I have ever had.
In the fall sometime around the Holidays ,Mernie would make cookies. Her most demanded being the Gingerbread Man.. the most totally awesome cookie ever made by human hands.. I was reminded of how awesome they were not so long ago when My Grandson Torie offered to share his GingerBread Man with me.. the smile on his face and the glee in his Heart were louder than words could express and the Joy of the simple jesters in Life often come from youth.. we so often forget the important things, until innocence leads us to the path..
My sincere condolences to the entire Rolston Family.. may the spirit of the GingerBread Man live on....Thankyou Mernie.

Mernie was a friend since the days I delivered her and Bill the daily news paper, well over 50 years ago. She was greatly loved and will be missed. God bless you Mernie.
