We miss John & Mary Alice very much. The driveway isn't busy anymore. I don't hear John on the lawn mower. He doesn't stop and chat with my husband like they used to do. All is quiet. They are at peace. No pain. And together again as they should be. They did live a wonderful life. I guess it was just their time but we do miss them.

More than a month later, it's still difficult for me to describe how much I miss my grandfather.
Even though my fate in religion isn't determined, I'm pretty darn sure that Mary-Alice Henry & John Brayton Henry were angels in disguise. They were two of the most compassionate, caring, humorous, & loving people I have ever known. The memories that will last forever that belonged between grandpa and I, were him welcoming me with "Hello, Bird," mowing his lawn for at least 2 years or him always being there for me during the surgeries, concerts at school and so many more that I will cherish forever.
Unfortunately, my heart will be broken for a long time after this and I will forever long to hear him coming into the house whistling his tune. I love you, grandpa!

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts in regards to my grandfather, John Henry. He was a wonderful, compassionate and patriotic man. He loved his family, his community and his country. It has been a difficult three months with the loss of our beloved Mary Alice and now our dear John. Thank you again to everyone, especially the loving care given to my grandparents by Darlene and Janet. I will miss my grandfather in everything that I do and will always carry him with me.

To John's family - I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I am an employee of the Western Finger Lakes Authority. I have missed John's presence on our Board. He was always a positive member.
Personally, I always appreciated John very much. He invited me to speak at the Sodus Rotary several years ago. As with all Rotarians, he was gracious and welcoming.
Please accept my condolences.

I've never met better people than John and Mary Alice Henry. I will always hold a special place in my heart for both. The memories from band trips, marching band, and picnics at Duck Lake, with John on the grill slicing the steaks up.
Riding to Syracuse with the two of them so I could play my All-State solo on the tuba.
Summers with John running the color guard and sousaphone section and Mary Alice running the rest of the band.
Good caring people who will be sorely missed.

Anne and Paul,
What a bittersweet time for you and your families. It's always so difficult to say goodbye to loved ones, but comforting to know that he is at peace now. I have so many memories of times at your house with you and your parents. I particularly remember your dad's laugh. It was loud and contagious. When I ate suppers at your house, he always proudly served us his wine, even though I'm sure we must have been a little young at the time! I thought it was a big deal.
It must be difficult to lose both parents in such a short amount of time. I pray that you will be strengthened by those around you that love you and care for you. Your family is on my heart and in my prayers. I'm looking forward to seeing you in 3 weeks.
Take care,
Sue
